Last week I went to my daughter’s assembly at her school.
All the kids gather and sing songs, perform little skits, play their instruments and have fun.
She would tell me about it each month but only after the fact. But this time I looked on the school calendar and blocked it out on my schedule so that I could be there.
The look of pure excitement on her face when she saw me walk in was priceless. She ran up to me and gave me a big hug.
In that moment I felt like the best mommy ever because I brought a smile to my daughters face by simply being present.
Leaving from the assembly I was reminded how amazing it feels to be able to work for myself. I wasn’t rushing out trying to get back to an office.
I wasn’t worried about how long the assembly was going to be.
I wasn’t worried about what emails or requests were going to be waiting for me when I got back to the office like I used to dread when I was in corporate.
I was also reminded that the only reason why I was able to feel this way was because I decided that this is what I wanted and my husband supported me 100% in making this happen.
I spent over a year being in a state of frustration because I was so unhappy working in corporate and I didn’t have the time freedom to focus all my efforts on building my business.
I remember being so tired because I was staying up late to work on business and getting up early to do the same.
Looking back I have no idea how I did it except that I was totally relying on a higher power to get me through.
Things are not exactly as I would have them be as my husband is overseas working so that I can have the time freedom to grow my business however I am in a constant state of gratitude for where I am.
During my time working in corporate I never released the vision of me being my own boss. I did whatever I had to do to make it work.
On my lunch breaks I would hop on Facebook and do my livestreams. I would get to work early and write out my blog post for the day and post it during my lunch hour.
I would schedule posts to be published on my page during my breaks. While my daughter was doing gymnastics I would be on social media posting, sharing and selling.
Why am I telling you this?
Because I know that you have a dream and a vision to build your own beautiful online business as well.
And I know how it feels to want something so bad yet feel like you aren’t able to fully step into it yet.
I get the frustration, I what it’s like to take care of your family while, work and spend your free time working on your business.
I know what it feels like to want to just walk out of your job and say peace out!!
I know what it feels like to know that you are meant for so much more yet not being fully clear on what that even is.
The important thing that I need to know is that you MUST keep your vision before you and be open to how the outcome may come to you.
I never dreamed that in order for me to work full-time in my business that my husband would be overseas working but allowed myself to be open to all opportunities that would come our way.
Now it’s a bigger vision of growing my business so that my husband comes back home and finds work here.
I know in my mind that I will look back in five years and know that it was totally worth it.
I am willing to do what most people aren’t willing to do now to live how I want to live for the rest of my life.
This is the mindset that you’ve got to adopt in the early stages of your business.
Mental toughness is essential to your journey because you an easily decide that it’s not worth it because it seems too hard.
The other mindset shift that has to happen is not focusing so much on how you feel right now in this moment and taking action from that place but looking at where you desire to be and taking action from that place instead.
You want to show up for yourself how you would once you’ve actually accomplished the goal of building your business, growing your business and being able to leave corporate.
If you’re like me you’ve figured out that corporate is not the place for you. I struggled with this for so long because that’s what you do in my family. That’s all I knew.
So to have this nudge that went against how I was raised was something that I had to overcome.
I quickly learned that creating the wealth I desired wasn’t going to come from me working my way up the corporate ladder.
Yes, it felt scary especially being that I thought this was the only way to create what I wanted.
However because I knew deep inside of me that I wasn’t’ willing to sacrifice my health and time with family I was very much open to the idea of building my own business where I controlled the fate of my income.
So what do you need to do today to create your vision of freedom? What mindset shifts need to happen in order for you to move ahead?
What do you need to learn and what work do you need to focus on in order to make your business dreams a reality?
Your vision will come to life when you decide that it’s time for it to and when you allow yourself to be open to all outcomes.
It will happen when you decide to shift your beliefs around what is possible for you.
It will happen when you decide to believe more in yourself than in what the world says you need to be doing.
It will happen when you decide that your dreams are worth the effort, time and work required to bring them forth.
It will happen when you decide.
I love you,
