I don’t have time to work on my business like I really want to.
I don’t know how I am going to find the time.
I have no idea where to even start.
I feel so overwhelmed.
If I just had a whole day to myself I know I would get it done.
Be honest have you ever said any of the above statements?
I know I have and now if I ever hear myself saying anything even remotely close to these excuses I immediately have a come Jesus talk with myself.
I find this to be such a common mindset performance block that even the best of us can find ourselves looping these statements over and over again in our minds.
What I know for sure is that we make time for the things we feel are really important to us. And so if you ever find yourself looping any of the above statements in your mind immediately snatch that thought up.
I used to get so pissed when I would hear people say you and Beyoncé have the same 24 hours in a day and look what she accomplishes.
Oh I used to get so mad and then I would go on this rant in my mind about how she a full mafia of support around her to help her with every aspect of her life. And that if I had that kind of support I would be able to do more as well.
Part of this is true to a certain level because when you do allow yourself to be supported in various ways you can actually buy back your time but see I was using it as an excuse to keep myself in overwhelm and a state of confusion.
There was a lot of work I had to do within myself on this because, as my coach pointed out to be at the time, I was wallowing in victim mode. Thinking that the things outside of me had control over my life and business.
I really want you to get this.
Everything you desire to see come to life in your business starts from inside of you. You are the only thing standing in the way of realizing your business goals.
It’s the mindset of seeing time as your enemy instead of using your amazing power to make time work for you.
It’s a mindset shift for sure because many entrepreneurs look at time as if time is running away from them instead of see time as something that they control.
You can control how your time is utilized in your day.
The question you have to ask yourself is:
Am I willing to take control of my time back so that I can accomplish my goals in my business?
This requires you to set boundaries and protect your time like a fierce Lioness.
So when I finally got over myself and really heard what my coach was saying I knew that I had stand in my divine authority and practice ownership of my time.
I’ll share with you what I did in hopes that it will help you along your journey.
When I was working in corporate and building my business I had set business meetings with myself.
I added a recurring business meeting with myself from the hours of 9pm-11pm and some nights 8pm-11pm if my husband was home.
I decided what I was going to do within that time frame and I got to work. This meant I didn’t watch TV and I wasn’t mindlessly scrolling around on social media. Building my business was more important to me then watching someone on TV or consuming stuff on social media.
On the weekends I did the same thing where I carved out a chunk of time on Saturdays and Sundays to get some work done. I did make a priority to not work all day because I knew it was very important for me to have fun and play in my life as well.
On the weekdays I got up early before my daughter, around 3-4am, so that I could have my quiet time and get my head right before interacting with the world and sometimes I would write my blog then as well.
Now that I am full time in my business I now have more available time but I still practice the same principle.
I have several success meetings with myself a day where I focus on my goals for the week.
The important thing I want you to take note of is that I added my time blocks into my calendar and I set a notification to remind me.
I figured if I could be prompt with going to business meetings at my JOB then I can do the same for my own business.
You also have to be very protective of your time. When I am working on things for my business I am not looking at my phone, in fact I turn it on DND so that I can focus. I’ll check it after my time block (which is usually 30 minutes to 1 hour) to ensure my daughters school hasn’t called me for anything.
My browsers are closed out on my computer and I only have up the programs that I need.
If you find yourself saying that you don’t have time or any of the other statements I listed above you’ve really got to ask yourself this question.
What part of me really doesn’t want this and why?
And you can also ask:
What benefit am I gaining by staying in this place that I don’t want to be in?
Understand that believing that you don’t have time or feeling overwhelmed is a mindset block that is holding you back.
I totally understand this and through my work with female entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs I love to help clear up any mindset blocks, beliefs, or emotional blocks that are keeping you from really taking your business to the next level.
So I hope you found this information useful and that you’ll begin to apply it
I want to hear from you!! Let me know if you resonate with this and how you are going to take control of your time back. And if you have any questions leave those to.
Sending you Big Love,
The Mindset Queen
