Being average does not appeal to me at all. I don’t know where this comes from…no I know where it comes from. I was born this way. I can’t help it. I enjoy the rush of going above and beyond what the average individual would do.
A few years ago I heard this statement that really made me think about how I needed to approach my life. This person said you have to be willing to do what others won’t do so that you can live the life that others won’t. It honestly took me up until this past year to really internalize what this statement meant.
I think you get it. I believe you know exactly what I am talking about. I think that on some level you know that in order to create the life and business you yearn for you will need to do the things that most won’t do. You will need to stay up later than most do and get up earlier than most will. You will need to invest in yourself and work on your mindset and glean success habits from the most highly achieved people in the world. You will need to put yourself out there for the world to see you. You will need to trust yourself first and be committed to following your inner voice. You will need to put your work out into the world for people to consume and criticize.
It’s all or nothing baby. Most might say this is extreme that there must be a middle ground and there is but again if you want to be great, average cannot be your goal. Thinking average, doing what everyone else is doing, following the crowd will only yield you average results. To get the epic results that you truly desire requires you to take some epic actions.
Get out of your feelings, stop thinking about how hard it is to do what you know you need to do and just do it. Sometimes it is necessary to forget your feelings so that you can create the life and business that you can be proud of. It’s time for you to take the actions and focus on doing what must be done so that you can have what others will never have.
To some this message is not going to make any sense and you’re going to wonder what’s wrong with leading a simple life. And that’s fine, stop reading right here, this message is not for you.
I am talking to those of you who are ambitious, driven, multi-passionate, self-motivated and want MORE about your life and business. You expect excellence from yourself and from those around you. You my love get exactly what I am saying. You are the type that sucks it up and jumps in the cold water. No dipping your toe in to see how cold the water is…no not you.
It’s either all or nothing at all. Some will say how selfish it is to think that you have to always want more no matter what. But you know what, who determines what selfish is and what selfish looks like? You do babe. People will give your drive all sort of names that are meant to halt you in your tracks and cause you to question whether you are really doing what’s right. The bottom line though is only you know what’s right for you.
Stick with that and don’t let anyone try to guilt you into thinking anything different. If you are constantly focused on what others are saying you are in that moment sacrificing your purpose, your soul work. Not focusing on your soul work will cost you your life (figuratively speaking of course) because that’s what you are trading when you decide to listen to other people, when you decide to allow their words to make you feel guilty for something you know you were created for. Nothing will happen for you unless you decide and hold steadfast to your conviction of what you know your purpose is supposed to look like.
