I am a firm believer in reciting affirmations daily as a way to speak your dreams into existence. Of course, there’s more to this practice than just speaking words out loud. There is a process that one should follow in order to gain maximum benefit from repeating affirmations. There are many people in this world who don’t believe in saying affirmations and I believe this is due to the fact that many of us don’t use affirmations effectively. So my goal is to provide you with steps that tell you how to write and practice affirmations effectively. Affirmations are fun and it allows us to dream and use our imagination to attract to us the life, circumstances and things we desire in life.  Here we go…

Affirmations should be….In the Present Tense 

So if affirmations are used as a tool to attract the life, circumstances and the things we desire than it makes sense that we should write our affirmations in the present tense. Stating them in the present tense tells our mind that we are already experiencing that which we are speaking into existence. The brain will create what you plant in it, no matter if it’s positive or negative. A beautiful thing begins to happen when we speak our requests out loud. Your posture changes and your mind begins to think up ways to bring to you what you are speaking.

Affirmations should be…..Spoken Consistently 

If you are going to be successful with your affirmations it’s important to be consistent. This is one of the reason some get frustrated because of the lack of consistency. If you aren’t being consistent then you definitely won’t see results. It’s like eating healthy every once in a while and then becoming upset when you can’t reach your health or weight goal. My suggestion is to repeat your affirmations at least twice a day; once in the morning and once before going to bed. 

Affirmations should be…..Stated in Positive Language 

What I mean by this is to be sure that your words are positive. This is best explained with examples. So for example, instead of saying I will LOSE 20 pounds we should say I RELEASE twenty pounds. Stating that we want to lose something implies that we will eventually find it and I don’t know about you but I don’t want twenty pounds back. Another example, instead of saying I am not sad, it would be better to say I exude happiness. The thought here is to focus your words on outcomes that you want and not those that you don’t want. 

Affirmations should be…..Conducted As-If 

This piece of information is very important to follow. Once you create and begin reciting your affirmations it’s important that you begin to embody what you are affirming. You have to begin conducting and carrying yourself like what you are saying has already come true. If you are affirming that you are full of joy yet you walk around pissed off and angry most the time you are not going to see any change. Makes sense right? 

Affirmations should be…..Stated with Emotion 

Emotions play a big role in ensuring the effectiveness of your affirmations. The higher your energy the better. This goes hand-in-hand with the previously stated instruction. Not only do you need to walk your talk you need to also be in a place where you feel good energetically. Yes, believe it or not getting enough sleep and exercising your body is important to the realization of your dreams. So feel good as much as you can and when you’re just having one of those days do one thing that makes you feel just a bit better and go from there 

Affirmations should be…..Visualized 

All throughout your day take just a few minutes and daydream (visualize) what your life is going to be like once you and your affirmed destiny collide. It so important to keep your vision before you at all times. A woman without a vision will perish so don’t be that woman. Keep your eyes on the prize and keep moving forward, you’ll begin to see your vision unfold.
