I believe as women if we could have one thing given to us in our life it would be clarity on what our purpose in life is. What are we meant to do? And how do we get there? This has been a stumbling block for me my whole life. I always knew deep down that I was meant for something greater than what I could see in front of me  but I had no clue what it was. It wasn’t until I got quiet and still that I began to become aware of what my purpose was. I work to live by my personal mantra each and everyday:

Go Boldly In The Direction of Your Dreams!

Each time though I would run into a wall getting more and more frustrated. How are you supposed to go boldly in the direction of your dreams if you have no idea where to even start?? At each dead-end I would think, “Well maybe what I am doing now is what I was created to do.” Sound familiar to you?? However after a while I would feel restless and the nagging feeling that I wasn’t going in the direction of my dreams would rear its head again! Frustration would arise and I would go around the mountain of unhappiness again feeling as if I would never find my way. It wasn’t until I began practicing a simple routine that I started to see the fog lift from around me. This is what I want to share with you today.

I am a believer in God so each morning I started getting up about 30 minutes early and going in my closet to pray. Over the years this time has expanded to anywhere from 1 to 2 hours depending upon how early I get up. I began to not only have prayer during this time but I  also began to write down the following:

  • What I wanted my life to look like
  • How I wanted to feel each day
  • Reflections on moments that I had that made me feel good
  • What I enjoyed doing
  • What I didn’t enjoy doing
  • What I would do if money was not an issue and I knew I couldn’t fail

By doing this I was allowing myself to dream, which brought me into a space of possibility and triggered my mind to seek out ways in which to make my desires come to fruition. I have learned that when you want clarity in your life and you want to know your purpose you have to get quiet.

I have created a quiet, sacred space in my closet that allows me to dream and create the life I desire. I pray, meditate, read, journal, speak affirming words to myself (hence the mirror) and visualize the life I want to have. I encourage you to find a place in your home; a corner, a closet, a bedroom, a comfy chair that will be your go to space. It doesn’t have to be a big space or anything fancy as you can see from my space below.

You just want to simply have a go to space for your peace of mind and escape from the world. Clarity, courage, joy, happiness and refueling happen in this space every day. I am not saying that by simply creating this space all is going to be well. The activities that you do in your space are what create the positive outcomes in your life. At the end of the day our biggest obstacle to finding our purpose is within us and within our mind.

Once you make this a habit in your life and your mind has become conditioned to seek out possibilities you can go to your sacred space at any time in your mind, no matter what is going on around you. Although I wouldn’t recommend going into this mind space while driving! 🙂  My husband captured me in my mind space while we were on vacation hiking through the trails and viewing the beautiful waterfalls. This practice of getting quiet has become so beneficial to me that I want to share this with every woman out there that is in a place of uncertainty or frustration with finding her life’s purpose. It takes time to gain clarity and it won’t happen over night however with time and persistence you will begin to see the fog rise in your life and your steps clearly laid before you.

I encourage you to keep placing one foot in front of the other and go boldly in the direction of your dreams! What you want in your life wants you too! So TODAY seek out that space in your home where you can work on gaining clarity.

My purpose in life is to help women transform their mindset and stand in their power so that they can live the life they desire. If this post encouraged you, inspired you or empowered you I ask that you share this message with others.
